Zurk Botha Associates (Pty) Ltd (ZBA) is a family business. The founder, Henning Johannes Oosthuizen, established the business as HJ Oosthuizen and Labuschagne in 1961. The name was changed to ZBA in 1990 after the current Managing Director (Zurk Botha CFP®), took over the reins on 1 May 1989. As an independent financial advisory practice, we focus on comprehensive employee benefits advice and intermediary services, global investment advice, retirement planning, estate planning (including last will and testament) risk assurance (life and disability cover) and related intermediary services.

Strategic alliances are in place to provide those services not in our focus area but required by our clients.   Such current alliances are with professionals like specialist estate planning attorneys, accountants, etc.

We hold membership of the Financial Planning Institute (FPI) and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) professional designation, in high regard. We believe in the continuous knowledge and skills development of all staff and the embracing of technology for the ultimate benefit our clients.

Investments

Our objective is to simplify the world of investments in such a way that you understand why a solution fits your circumstances. Combining leading market analysis through our strategic alliances and placing capital for specific purposes into the correct investment vehicle (Retirement Annuities, Endowments, Living Annuities, Collective Investments and other) which is strategically correct according to your goals whether local or offshore. Saving tax will be the golden thread throughout modelling your portfolio.​

Employee Benefits

Our group benefit packages are tailored to the requirements of the employer and the members. Essentially, retirement funds are established for the accumulation of funds for retirement. Additional benefits such as life cover, disability and dread disease cover are added, this is done frugally so that the main concept of the fund is not negated. The objective will be to create a competitive advantage programme enhancing employee retention.

Long Term Insurance

Life and disability cover are the main needs. We can assist with individual and business assurance needs, analysing key aspects to identify specific needs. Business insurance could be in the form of sinking funds, key man assurance and partnership assurance. We hold a PPS license to cater for cover of our professional society.​

Financial Planning

We follow the six-step process as determined by the international professional body of the Financial Planning Association (FPA – locally FPI). The objective is to keep the process simple yet applicable to your personal circumstances and needs. Our value add is to translate the pitfalls, tax advantages and personal objectives into an understandable and adaptable plan. You are not left alone with your plan once it was set up, we monitor and recommend plan adjustments, as life happens.​

Estate Planning, Wills & Trusts

Ensure that your legacy is passed on as smooth as possible to those you intended to. Passing away without a legal will (intestate) could land your estate in the government’s hands (Guardian Fund).

ZBA SERVICES

We hold a FSCA category 2 license, which puts us in place to perform discretionary services on a higher level and provide DFM services. We place a premium on highly skilled staff and collectively we have more than 100 years of experience.
